Ukrainian coach Mikhail Yakovlevich Matsikh died on May 11 at the age of 92. This was reported by the press service of the National Boxing League of Ukraine. It is noted that the specialist began his coaching career at the age of 19. Throughout his life, he earned many awards, including the title of Honored Trainer of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, and also became a two-time champion of the Ukrainian SSR.

In addition, he was a prize-winner of the USSR Championship, playing for the sports society " Matsikh is also known in the boxing world as a coach of such athletes as the Klitschko brothers, Vitaly Kachanovsky, Alexander Antikuz, Marina Kozerod, Alina Shaternikova and many others. It should be noted that since 1977, Mikhail Matsikh served as senior coach of the 14th Army Sports Club in Kyiv. Earlier it was also reported that a Ukrainian boxer died at the age of 38.
