The International Boxing Federation (IBF) announced the holding of promotional trading in a heavyweight eliminator for choosing an obligatory applicant for the title of absolute champion in this division Alexander Usik.
In this duel in the ring, the Kubinets Frank Sanchez (25-1, 18 KO) and the Nigerian Efa Ajagba (20-1-1, 14 KOs) will again meet. Their first battle took place in October 2021, and then the Cuban boxer won the unanimous decision of the judges.
According to Boxingscene, the parties failed to agree on a revenge within the prescribed time, so IBF planned promotional auction for August 5.
If one of the boxers refuses the battle, it will be excluded from the first dozens of IBF rating and will not be able to participate in the battles authorized by this organization for at least six months.
Currently, Ajagba takes the third position in the IBF heavyweight rating, and Sanchez - the fourth.
On the second line is the Briton Derek Chisor.
The best boxer will be determined in the match between the Cuban and the Nigerian in the organization’s ranking, which is now free, as well as the obligatory contender for the Usyk.
We will remind, earlier WBO appointed Alexander Usik a mandatory protection against the temporary champion of Joseph Parker.
