The famous Ukrainian athlete Oleg Doroshchuk will not compete at the Diamond League stage in Rome, which will be held on June 4. The current world indoor high jump champion has withdrawn from the competition due to injury and is continuing his recovery before his next competitions.

The name of the 24-year-old athlete disappeared from the updated starting protocol of the tournament on the eve of the competition. The stage in the capital of Italy was supposed to be Doroshchuk’s first performance in the summer season after the triumphant World Indoor Championships, where he won a historic “gold” for Ukraine..

" Now I’m already recovering and preparing for the next competitions.

I would like to compete in Doha on June 19, but I’m not sure yet,” Doroshchuk said in an interview with Suspilna Sport..

It is expected that the next possible tournament for the Ukrainian athlete will be the Diamond League stage in Doha, scheduled for June 19. The final decision on his participation will depend on the progress of the recovery.

Doroshchuk is the 2026 World Indoor Champion and the 2025 European Indoor Champion. At the Olympic Games in Paris he took sixth place, setting a personal best at a height of 2.31 m.
