Ukrainian figure skater Kirill Marsak was unable to complete his participation in the stage of the international Challenger series, which took place in the Georgian capital. The 21-year-old native of Kherson withdrew from the stage in Tbilisi due to health problems.

On October 9, the athlete performed in the short program and took 11th place, receiving 68.79 points. However, the next day, when he was supposed to take to the ice with a free program, Marsak decided to withdraw from the competition.

In a commentary for Suspilne Sport, the figure skater explained that he felt unwell and was hospitalized with suspected appendicitis.. After the examination, the diagnosis was not confirmed, but the athlete decided not to risk his health and completed his participation ahead of schedule.

The stage in Tbilisi was the second for Marsac this season. Previously, he competed at the Lombardia Trophy tournament in Bergamo, where he took 10th place with a total of 223.20 points.

In addition, the Georgian Challenger became the first start for the Ukrainian after he won the only figure skating license for Ukraine for the 2026 Winter Olympics. This happened at the qualifying tournament in Beijing, where Marsac became fourth.

At the Trialeti Trophy in Tbilisi, Ukraine was also represented by Zoya Larson and Andrey Kapran in ice dancing - the duo took seventh place, scoring 161.77 points based on the results of rhythmic and free dances.
