Blocking the women's team of Ukraine in volleyball Ulyana Kotar said that before the match with Slovenia, the team stood on the site and waited for the anthem, but the organizers did not include the Ukrainian melody. After a pause, the coach gestured to volleyball players to start singing themselves - and the anthem sounded already in a living performance.

The incident occurred before the fight of the Golden Euroleague, which was accepted by Slovenia.

Contrary to the international protocol, the Ukrainian anthem was not included from the host side. The national team was not at a loss and decided to fulfill it on its own. The organizers did not voiced the official reason for the refusal.

The meeting with Slovenia ended with a score of 3-0 in favor of our girls. This was the fourth victory in the Golden Euroleague season-2025. Recall that this is the first tournament under the leadership of the new head coach Yakub Glushak.
