Olympic champion in Biathlon Relay (Sochi-2014) Julia Jima showed an outstanding result in an individual race at the World Cup in the Swiss Lenzersheid. She closed all 20 targets and took 5th place, setting a career record in personal starts at the World Cup level.

The 34-year-old Kiev woman came to the flower ceremony with the flag of Ukraine.

At the finish of Jima, the nearest opponent was ahead of more than a minute. However, due to favorable weather conditions, many biathletes showed accurate shooting, and in the final protocol the Ukrainian took 5th place. At the same time, even the Swedish star of Elvira Eberg could not bypass Jim in the last round, losing her 10 seconds.

Another excellent result for Ukraine was shown by Christina Dmitrenko-with perfect shooting, she took 11th place and qualified in the mass start. In turn, Anastasia Merkushina and Olena Gorodna brought glasses to the Cup of Nations, which allowed the Ukrainian team to come close to Austria in the struggle for 7th place.

" But given the fact that I got sick in front of the race, I am satisfied with the result. Was able to shoot to zero, but there was not enough speed. After the illness, it is very difficult - there is also a height, plus there was a wind on the left on the left, then on the right, I had to constantly adjust the shooting, ”Jim said.

In December last year, Jima showed the best result in three years in the Biathlon World Cup. Julia took fourth place in the sprint race in French Ansi.
