Six Ukrainian tennis players completed their performances at the Australian Open, failing to reach the decisive stages of the tournament. The athletes competed in both singles and doubles, but their journey ended at different stages.
Yulia Starodubtseva (No. 100 WTA) lost in the first round to Leila Fernandez from Canada (No. 31 WTA) – 5:7, 4:6. Daria Snigur (No. 138 WTA) lost to American Danielle Collins (No. 11 WTA) at the start – 6:7, 3:6. Angelina Kalinina (No. 48 WTA) finished her journey in the first round after losing to Ons Jabeur (No. 39 WTA) - 3:6, 3:6, and also dropped out in the second round of the doubles tournament.
Dayana Yastremskaya (No. 33 WTA) reached the third round, where she lost to Elena Rybakina (No.
6 WTA), playing for Kazakhstan, with a score of 3:6, 4:6.
Marta Kostyuk (No. 18 WTA) also stopped in the third round, losing to Spaniard Paula Badosa (No. 12 WTA) - 4:6, 6:4, 3:6, and in doubles she reached the quarterfinals.
The last Ukrainian to finish her singles performance was Elina Svitolina (No. 27 WTA), who lost to Madison Keys from the USA (No. 14 WTA) in the quarterfinals – 6:3, 3:6, 4:6. In the doubles tournament, sisters Lyudmila and Nadezhda Kichenok stopped in the third round.
