Champion of Ukraine in pankration (martial arts) among juniors, multiple winner of competitions in the Chernivtsi region and a devoted fan of the Bukovyna football club, Lieutenant Pavel Unguryan died defending his homeland, reports the Sports Committee of Ukraine. The tragedy occurred on January 9, 2025 in the Kharkov region, in the Kupyansky direction, as a result of an attack by an enemy FPV drone.

A 27-year-old serviceman served in military unit A7187. Despite his youth, Pavel managed to gain respect both in sports and in the service.

His death was a great loss for his family, comrades and everyone who knew him..

Pavel is survived by his wife and eight-month-old child, who have lost a loving husband and father. Relatives and friends remember him as a strong, kind and devoted person, always ready to help.

The funeral took place on January 14, 2025 in the village of Komarovtsi, Chernivtsi region. Pavel Unguryan was buried with military honors, becoming another hero who gave his life for Ukraine.
