World boxing legend Lennox Lewis does not believe that in a fight against Alexander Usik (23-0, 14 KOs), Briton Daniel Dubois (22-0, 21 KOs) delivered an illegal low blow. Recalling the 2023 fight, the former absolute world heavyweight champion noted that the Ukrainian misled the judge.

Lewis expressed this opinion in an interview with the YouTube channel Froch On Fighting, assessing the possible revenge of Dubois and Usik. At the same time, the British ex-boxer added that if he were the Ukrainian unified champion, he would have done the same, focusing the referee’s attention on the allegedly illegal blow.

" Ask any boxer, it was a blow to the elastic of his shorts. Was he faking? We all do it. We know this sport.

I would do the same,"

Let us remind you that Alexander defeated Daniel by technical knockout in the ninth round. After a low blow in the fifth three-minute period, referee Luis Pabon gave our compatriot five minutes to recover. After the fight, the British team filed an appeal against the result, but it was rejected.

Du Bois threatened revenge against our compatriot. And the chairman of the Saudi Arabian General Authority for Entertainment, Turki Al al-Sheikh, announced his intention to organize a rematch between the British and Ukrainian.
