Blaugranas sold two packages of VIP seats at their home arena, which is under reconstruction. Middle Eastern investors received the right to use for 30 years, the club’s official website reports.

Buyers will be able to use 475 VIP seats for their own purposes, including resell them. Two unrelated investors will pay upfront for a license to use the seats and will also pay the cost each season. Barca guaranteed income throughout the duration of the deal.

The agreement replenished the Catalan coffers by approximately 100 million euros. This amount allowed Barcelona to return to the “1 to 1” rule - the grandee would be able to spend 1 euro on the squad for every euro saved (salaries of players who left the club, as well as transfer fees). The sale of VIP seats allowed Barca to re-register Olmo and Victor.

By the way, the day before Barcelona defeated Betis at home on the way to the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey.
