The current IBF world heavyweight champion, Briton Daniel Dubois, said he is ready to fight boxing legend Wladimir Klitschko if he returns to the ring. The boxer spoke about this in an interview with BoxNation.
The British athlete says that he was previously credited with the possibility of a meeting with Klitschko Jr., but then “everything went quiet”.
" But it would be interesting, wouldn't it. To box at a time when anyone in power imagines that he can do it,” the boxer said.
According to Dubois, he is considering the option of entering the ring against Vladimir Klitschko in the event that his rematch against Alexander Usik or against any other opponent is disrupted.
" But yes, Wladimir Klitschko is a legend. Wladimir Klitschko - that would be something different, wouldn't it "
It is known that the IBF champion will make a mandatory defense of his title against New Zealand boxer Joseph Parker. The fight is scheduled for February 22, 2025. Daniel Dubois received his title after undisputed heavyweight champion Alexander Usik refused to defend his IBF belt in favor of a rematch against Briton Tyson Fury.
Focus previously wrote that on December 22, 2024, Usik defeated Fury on points in Riyadh. During the fight, the British boxer tried to use his advantage in height, weight and arm span. Several dangerous uppercuts took place. But Usik's jabs were more accurate.
It was also reported that Vladimir Klitschko was offered to enter the ring in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian’s opponent may be determined based on the results of the fights in Riyadh on December 21.
