On Sunday, December 1, at the first stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup season in Kontiolahti, Finland, the men's relay took place. The Ukrainian national team was represented in the race by Bogdan Tsymbal, Dmitry Pidruchny, Anton Dudchenko and Vitaly Mandzyn. The “blue-yellows” finished in seventh position. At the first stage, Tsymbal used one additional cartridge during prone shooting and left the firing line in 17th position. On the stand, Bogdan made two mistakes, but pulled our team to 10th place, which he retained until the baton was passed on. At the second stage, Pidruchny shot cleanly prone and rose to 8th place. The captain of the Ukrainian team performed standing shooting with one inaccurate shot, reaching 7th position. Dmitry passed the baton to 8th place, only 9 seconds behind fourth place. At the third stage, Dudchenko shot prone without error, thanks to which the Ukrainian team jumped to 5th position. After one miss by Anton in the standing position, the blue-yellows dropped to 7th place, but at the last pass of the relay they were already 6th. At the final fourth stage, Mandzyn showed perfect prone shooting, thanks to which he rose to 5th place. However, Vitaly couldn’t cope with the stance and took one penalty lap, which ultimately threw the Ukrainian team back to the final 7th position. France won the men's relay.
