The Ukrainian men's volleyball team reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 European Championship. In the 1/8 finals of the continental championship, Ugis Krastins' team beat Portugal in three sets. The match between Portugal and Ukraine ended with a score of 0:3 (20:25, 19:25, 22:25). In the quarterfinals, the opponents of the “blue-yellows” will be the current vice-champions of the continent - the Slovenians, who in another match of the 1/8 finals defeated Turkey - 3:2.

Let us add that the national teams of Ukraine and Slovenia have already met in the group stage of the current continental championship. The match ended in the defeat of the Ukrainian volleyball players. The quarter-final match of Euro 2023 Ukraine - Slovenia will take place on Monday, September 11. Recall that the Ukrainians reached the playoffs of the Euro 2023 championship from the third place in their group. The Blue-Yellows lost to Slovenia (1:3), Croatia (2:3) and Bulgaria (1:3), after which they defeated Finland (3:2) and beat Spain (3:0).
