World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Suleiman commented on the scandalous episode in the 5th round of the fight between WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, when the Briton hit the Ukrainian with a low blow. The head of the WBC supported Usyk, saying Dubois really broke the rules. Accordingly, the referee made the right decision when he did not count the knockdown, but gave Alexander time to recover. “In the fifth round, Dubois landed a punch on Usyk that landed squarely on the belt of the boxing shorts, which is an obvious blow below the belt, after which Usyk fell to the canvas of the ring. Unfortunately, only the WBC uses the instant video replay rule, which was not applied in this case,"

Recall Usyk knocked out Dubois in the ninth round and defended the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF heavyweight titles.. After the fight, Dubois said that he was stolen from the victory.

According to the British boxer, his blow hit Usyk not below the waist, but exactly in the stomach.. Daniel expressed confidence that he knocked out the Ukrainian and had to take possession of the championship belts. In this regard, the Dubois team demands to annul the result of the battle with Usyk. We add that the World Boxing Association (WBA) has already issued an official statement regarding the scandalous blow of the British below the belt. The organization stated that Dubois' hit was a violation of the rules, so Usyk fairly defended his titles.
