US Open-2023 in New York hosted a charity match in support of Ukraine during the war against Russian invaders. World tennis stars took part in the event, including Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and her husband, Frenchman Gael Monfils, world number one Spaniard Carlos Alcaras, American tennis players Francis Tiafoe and Jessica Pegula, as well as Italian Matteo Berrettini. Also joining the charity exhibition matches are tennis legends John McEnroe and Gabriela Sabatini.. Famous singer Sebastian Yatra and NBA basketball player Jimmy Butler became special guests of the event.
Note that in one of the fights Svitolina played in tandem with Monfils. In a quick tie-break format, they lost to the Americans Jennifer Brady and Christopher Eubanks with a score of 9:11.
