In the quarterfinals, Daria lost to the silver medalist of the 2020 Olympics Sari-Leoni Sizik from France. Thus, she ended up in repechage fights, in the first of which she defeated the world junior champion Italian Veronica Toniolo. In the decisive bout for the bronze Bilodid met with the German Paulina Starka. In extra time, the Ukrainian pulled out a victory thanks to a spectacular ipon.

For Bilodid, this is the fourth medal in tournaments after moving to a new weight category (up to 57 kg). Previously, the Ukrainian competed in the weight category up to 48 kg, where she won six medals at the Grand Slam competitions - 4 gold, one silver and one bronze.. It was in this weight that Bilodid won the “bronze” of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Bilodid medal is the first for the Ukrainian team at Masters-2023.
