Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk failed to reach the semi-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Washington. In the 1/4 finals, Svitolina lost to the top seed, the fourth racket of the world, Jessica Pegula (USA). The match lasted 2 hours 9 minutes and ended with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 6:4 in favor of the American. For the entire fight, Elina filed right through 4 times, made 3 double faults and used one of 7 breakpoints. We add that earlier at the tournament in Washington, Svitolina defeated two tennis players from the aggressor countries in a row - former world number one from Belarus Victoria Azarenka and Russian Daria Kasatkina, who played in a neutral status. In turn, in the match for reaching the semi-finals, Kostyuk lost to the current champion of the tournament, Russian Lyudmila Samsonova.
