Ukrainian swimmer Denis Kesil won a license for the 2024 Olympics, which will be held in Paris. At the World Aquatics Championships held in Fukuoka, Japan, 22-year-old Kesil with 11th time (1. 55.75 minutes) qualified for the 200m butterfly semi-finals. Having shown this result, our compatriot fulfilled the Olympic standard. Thus, Kesil has the opportunity to perform for the second time at the Olympics. At his debut for the Games in Tokyo in 2021, he stopped in qualifying, finishing 21st.. This is the sixth Olympic license for Ukraine in swimming.

In total, our athletes have already won 21 licenses for the Games in Paris: athletics (6), swimming (6), shooting (4), diving (2), boxing (1), modern pentathlon (1) and football (1). Recall that Ukraine may boycott the 2024 Olympics if athletes from Russia and Belarus are allowed to compete.. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has not yet made a decision on the fate of the athletes of the aggressor states. The Summer Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
