The Ukrainian men's beach soccer team became the winner of their group of European qualifications for the 2024 World Cup. In the third round of the group stage, the wards of Nikolay Kostenko and Alexander Korniychuk defeated Lithuania with a score of 4:1. Andrey Pashko and Yaroslav Zavorotny scored for the Ukrainian team in the first period. Lithuanians responded with a goal by Paulius Giedraitis. However, in the second half, Oleg Zborovsky and Andriy Borsuk ensured victory for our team with accurate shots.. Thus, the “blue-yellows” won the third of three matches of the group stage. Earlier, the Ukrainian national team beat Spain (4:3) in overtime, and then defeated Poland (3:2). Having scored 8 points, the Ukrainians guaranteed the first place in Group B ahead of schedule, regardless of the result of the match between the national teams of Poland and Spain.

Next, the Ukrainian team will continue to fight in the playoffs of the 2024 World Cup qualification. Moldova or Italy will face the Blue-Yellows in the quarter-finals. The winners of the quarter-finals, which will be held on July 9, will receive tickets to the 2024 World Cup. The 2024 Beach Soccer World Cup will take place in Dubai from 15 to 25 February.
