The youth team of Ukraine (U-21) defeated the team of France in the 1/4 finals of the final tournament of Euro 2023. The match in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca at the Cluj Arena ended with a score of 1:3. In this meeting, the Ukrainians were the first to concede. In the 19th minute, Lyon striker Ryan Sherkey shot Anatoly Trubin's goal from the penalty area after a pass from the right flank, which was given by his teammate Bradley Barcola. The Blue-Yellows bounced back in the 32nd minute. Mykhailo Mudryk earned a penalty for the Ukrainian national team, for whom this match was his debut in the tournament. And Georgy Sudakov with a kick from the 11-meter mark confidently spread the ball and the goalkeeper in the corners. At the end of the first half, Ruslan Rotan's wards took the lead. Mudrik found Sudakov with a magnificent pass from the depth of the field, and he bypassed the French goalkeeper and rolled the ball into the net. Thus, Sudakov scored a double. After the break, the French attacked more, but the Ukrainians not only managed not to concede, but also scored the third goal.
