The final match of the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship between Canada and Germany took place in Tampere (Finland).

The Germans failed to create another sensation after defeating the USA - the Canadians defeated the Europeans with a score of 5: 2.

The first and second periods ended in a draw with the same score 1:1, while the Canadians fought back twice. But already in the third period, the North Americans scored three goals to the opponent and won the championship.

Team Canada won the World Cup for the 28th time in its history, which is a tournament record. Germany won their third silver medal after finishing second at the 1930 and 1953 World Cups.
