The European Judo Union (EJU) has decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus in a neutral status to the qualifying competitions for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

According to Inside the Games, the organization took this step after representatives of both countries performed in a neutral status at the World Judo Championships in Qatar..

The first sanction from athletes from both countries was lifted by the International Judo Federation (IJF), thanks to which 17 Russian judoists got to the World Cup, of which 14 had contracts with army organizations.

" The status quo of EJU tournaments will be adjusted accordingly,"

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian judo team boycotted the World Championships due to the lifting of sanctions against Russians and Belarusians..
