Titled Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan reacted to the decision of the International Fencing Federation to cancel the suspension of Russians and Belarusians from competitions.

The athlete published her thoughts on Instagram.

" This is what I feel right now. The decision of the FIE congress to allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in all competitions during a brutal war in my homeland in Ukraine makes me feel empty inside. It makes me believe that there is no better and fairer world.

We had and have the support of those who understand where the light is and where the darkness is.. We are deeply grateful to all our friends and people who stay with us during this difficult time.. But unfortunately some people can't put themselves in your shoes.. They just don't want to, because it hurts and is unnecessary for them.. They find false thoughts: " All this for their own selfish purposes..

It collapses at the moment when bombs fall on your house, on your land, when you have to live with it and go to the front to protect your family from killers who want to destroy your life. This and much more did not even dream of these people in nightmares.. They will never understand until it happens to them..

We will always fight for justice. We will always be strong because we know the truth. Someday there will be light and victory. And then maybe I'll believe in a better world again.

It is expected that the lifting of the FIE ban will come into force in April, after which the Russians and Belarusians will be able to travel to the World and European Championships in the summer and participate in the selection for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Earlier, the sports federations of Ukraine and the NOC agreed on an appeal to the IOC with a call to extend the suspension of Russians and Belarusians.
