World number one Novak Djokovic will not be able to play at the Masters series tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami.

The United States continues to ban the entry of foreigners who have not been vaccinated against coronavirus. Djokovic refused to be vaccinated, so he will not be able to enter the tournament, which will be held from March 6 to 19.

In the main draw of Indian Wells, he will be replaced by Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili, as announced by the organizers of the tournament.

Djokovic is also expected to miss the Miami Masters (March 19-April 2).

On May 11, the state of emergency in connection with the coronavirus will end in the United States, after which the Serb will be able to travel to other tournaments and play at the US Open for the first time since 2021.

Novak Djokovic refused to be vaccinated after the start of the coronavirus pandemic and said that forced vaccination violates human rights. Due to his position last season, the world ranking leader was unable to compete in several major competitions.
