Dnipro-1 played a draw against the Cypriot club AEK Larnaca in the second leg of the 1/16 finals of the Conference League - 0:0. Due to the full-scale invasion of Russian invaders into Ukraine, the nominally home fight for the Dnipro took place in the Slovak city of Kosice. The first match of the Conference League playoffs between these clubs, which took place a week ago in Cyprus, ended with a minimal defeat of Dnipro with a score of 1:0. So in the second match, the team of Oleksandr Kucher had to score and it had to be done without the main scorer of Dnipro-1 - Artem Dovbik, who missed this match due to injury. Unfortunately, the Dnieper failed to do this.. Joan Peglou had the best moment at the beginning of the second half, but the Dnipro-1 midfielder hit the post with a long-range shot. In the 72nd minute Oleksiy Gutsulyak also didn't use his chance - he responded to the serve from the left flank, but sent the ball past the goal with his head. Thus, according to the sum of two meetings, it was AEK that qualified for the 1/8 finals of the Conference League.

It should be noted that this was already the fourth match of Dnipro-1 against AEK from Larnaca this season.. Earlier, the Cypriots twice defeated Oleksandr Kucher's wards in the playoffs of the Europa League qualifying round.. The winners of the 1/16 final pairs will join the teams that took first places in the Conference League groups. The draw for the 1/8 finals of the Conference League will take place on February 24, and the matches of this stage will take place on March 9 and 16.
