Ukrainian judoka won gold at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris

The Ukrainian judo team won the first award at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris. Bogdan Yadov became the champion in the weight category up to 66 kg.

On the way to the final, the 26-year-old Ukrainian defeated two-time Grand Slam champion - Israeli Tal Flicker, as well as Slovak Matei Polyak, Spaniard Alberto Gateiro and South Korean An Jehon.

In the final, Yadov defeated the Mongolian judoist Ergembayar Battogtog, the winner of last year's Grand Slam competition in Ulaanbaatar. The decisive fight ended with the victory of our compatriot with a score of 1:0.

For Bogdan, this is the first victory in his career at Grand Slam competitions..

And for Ukraine, the third gold in the tournaments of the prestigious series over the past three years. In February 2020, the competition in Paris was won by Daria Bilodid (weight up to 48 kg), and in 2022 Artem Lesyuk (up to 60 kg) triumphed at the tournament in Tel Aviv.

Grand Slam in the French capital will last until Sunday, February 5. The Ukrainian national team for the tournament included nine judokas, including two-time world champion Daria Bilodid.
