Ukrainian ski jumper Evgeny Marusyak set a new national record in ski flying.

During the first training session on the giant Kulm ski jump at the World Cup stage in Austria, Marusyak flew 200.5 meters. This was the 34th indicator among the participants.

Note that the previous record of Ukraine belonged to Vitaliy Kalinichenko. On December 10, 2020, in the Slovenian Planica, he flew 195.5 meters.

Marusyak could not qualify further, finishing 43rd. Kalinichenko also performed and became 57th.

For both jumpers, it was the first stage of the World Cup in career flying.. Prior to that, they performed at the 2020 World Championships, where Kalinichenko set his record. Then Vitaly became 38th, and Evgeny stopped at the qualifying stage (44th place).
