The war with the Russian invaders claimed the life of another representative of the national sport. Former Ukrainian figure skater Dmitry Sharpar dies near Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

The tragic news was announced on the Skate Ukraine Facebook page.

Dmitry met his death at the age of 25.

Before Sharpar left to defend Ukraine from the enemy, he was a member of the Ukrainian national figure skating team, paired with Anastasia Pobizhenko.

Sharpar was the silver medalist of the Ukrainian championship and entered the top 10 at the 2016 Youth Olympics. After completing his sports career, Dmitry worked as an artist in the circus show on ice "
