Ukraine won the third medal of the Winter Universiade 2023

The Ukrainian national team won the third award at the World Winter Universiade, which takes place in Lake Placid, USA.

Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Grushchak became the silver medalist in the pursuit.

Our compatriot went to the start seventh. Grushchak worked flawlessly on three firing lines and came to the final shooting as a leader. There Dmitry made one mistake and eventually finished in second place.

American Bjorn Westervelt won Gold in Pursuit. The bronze medal was won by Pole Wojciech Janik.



Two more Ukrainians also took part in the race: Vladislav Chikhar and Roman Borovik finished in 10th and 12th positions, respectively..

Grushchak's medal is the third for Ukraine in the current Universiade. Biathletes Yulia Gorodnaya and Stepan Kinash brought the first medal to our country, who became bronze medalists in the single mixed relay. Dmytro Mazurchuk and Vitaliy Grebenyuk also won bronze medals in team competitions in Nordic Combined.
