Ukrainian Andrey Kulik became the bronze medalist of the 2022 World Championships in the weight category up to 72 kg.

In the fight for bronze, the 24-year-old Kharkiv resident defeated the Frenchman Ibrahim Ghanem with a score of 4:3.

For Kulik, this is the debut adult world championship in his career. Last year, he competed at the World Youth Championship (U-23), where he finished seventh in the weight category up to 72 kg.. " Three other Ukrainian wrestlers who started on the first day of the competition - Koryun Sahradian (up to 55 kg), Yasaf Zeynalov (up to 77 kg) and Andriy Antonyuk (up to 87 kg), failed to cling to the awards.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian judoists won two medals on the starting day of the European Cup.
