Norwegian Kasper Ruud and Spaniard Carlos Alcaras will fight for the trophy of the last Grand Slam tournament of this season.

In the first semi-final, 23-year-old Ruud defeated Russian Karen Khachanov. The representative of the Russian Federation spoke at the US Open in a neutral status due to the full-scale war that Russia, with the assistance of Belarus, unleashed against Ukraine.

The fight lasted three hours and three minutes.. The Norwegian gave the tennis player from the aggressor country only one set - 7:6(5), 6:2, 5:7, 6:2.

In the second semi-final, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz met with five years older American Francis Tiafoe, who sensationally knocked out four-time US Open winner Rafael Nadal from the tournament in the 1/8 finals.

The match was incredibly dramatic.. The players spent 4 hours and 22 minutes on the court. As a result, it was Alcaraz who emerged victorious from the five-set duel - 6:7(8), 6:3, 6:1, 6:7(5), 6:3.

Interestingly, in the final, Ruud and Alcaraz will compete not only for the US Open title, but also for the title of the new first racket of the world.. For the first time in history, the Grand Slam finals will meet two contenders for leadership in the world rankings, who have never led it before.

The 2022 US Open final between Ruud and Alcaraz will take place on Sunday, September 11. The game starts at 23:00 Kyiv time.

Recall that the finalists of the US Open-2022 were previously determined. The women's final will take place on Saturday, September 10. Start - at 23:00 Kyiv time.
