World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Suleiman spoke about a potential bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

He noted that the WBC could not schedule this fight..

" It will be against the rules and the rights of the champion. But he can make a voluntary title defense against Joshua.. We understand that this is a big fight between two Britons.. This is a very interesting fight.. Undoubtedly, Fury is now the best super heavyweight, and he is at his peak, "

Earlier, Usyk said that he was only interested in a fight with Fury for the title of absolute world champion.. At the same time, the Ukrainian said that this year he no longer plans to enter the ring.. The Crimean intends to heal old injuries and fully recover after the revenge from Joshua, as well as spend time with his family. In response, Fury invited Joshua to fight in December of this year..

On the night of August 21, 2022, Usyk defeated Joshua by split decision in a rematch, which took place in the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

Thus, the Ukrainian defended all the titles taken from AJ last fall, and also won the vacant belt of The Ring magazine..

Fury on the night of April 24, 2022 knocked out his compatriot Dillian White and retained the WBC title, after which he announced his retirement.

Joshua, 32, has 24 wins (22 by KO) and three losses on his track record.. For the first time, AJ lost in June 2019 to Andy Ruiz, but in December of the same year he defeated the Mexican in a rematch and regained his titles.

The 33-year-old Fury has 32 wins (23 by knockout) and one draw.
