Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Vladislav Sirenko recalled his condition after the start of the war, and also noted that the Russians are trying to destroy Ukrainian sports.

" Was in a depressed mood. Didn't want to leave the house. Was constantly on the phone, talking to friends, reading the news, but you can go crazy if you want, but you can't help.

I feel that sport is a target for Putin and his government. He doesn't just want to destroy our country, he wants to destroy culture, language, sports, everything.. This is the only way to explain why they bomb arenas and stadiums.

The Russians have already killed more than 100 athletes and coaches of various sports. They don't want us to compete.

I think it motivates many of our athletes. Our mission now is to raise the Ukrainian flag again and again," com with a link to The Times.

Vladislav Sirenko has not yet lost in the professional ring and won 19 victories, of which 16 were by knockout.
