FINA is one of the last international sports organizations that denied the participation of Russians and Belarusians in competitions. Many federations did it right away, but FINA delayed this decision for a very long time. But we wrote to them all the time.

Our coach Svetlana Saidova wrote letters to them because she is a member of FINA. We constantly tagged the organization in our Instagram posts. As a result, the Russians were removed. I can’t say that we are very happy, because this is an event that should have happened. It was obvious that they should be banned from all competitions.. And I think that not for a year, but for life. What they are doing with our country, people, families, children, I have no idea... This is a very weak punishment - a life suspension is needed, in my opinion.

I also know that a duo from Germany refused to compete in the World Series if there was a Russian team. The support of international athletes was also crucial. We showed the German women a lot of photos - they even cried and hugged us very much. We said that we are very grateful to them that this step on their part was decisive. They understand who the Russians are, what kind of people they are..

My parents are sincere patriots of Ukraine, they instilled these feelings in me from childhood. Therefore, I never loved Russia and did not fanate from their athletes.

At first they tried to write to them: go to rallies, do something, shout, because we woke up at five in the morning from explosions across the country, this is not a special operation.
