Shakhtar Donetsk completed the training camp in Slovenia with two matches against Al-Fateh.
The first game, in which conditionally the second squads of both clubs took part, ended in a crushing victory for the Pitmen. Jovicevic's team sent five goals into the rivals' goal, to which Al-Fateh found it difficult to answer - 5:0.
Vladislav Vakula, Sergiy Kryvtsov, Lassina Traore scored goals for Shakhtar, as well as a double scored by Daniil Sikan.
In turn, the basis of Shakhtar failed to repeat the success of the second team. The match ended with a score of 1:3 in favor of the Saudi team.
Mykhailo Mudryk opened the match score in the 29th minute, after which the Pitmen's luck turned away. First, Cristian Cueva equalized the score, and at the end of the match, the opponent sent two more goals into the gates of the Donetsk club - Fahad Al-Harbi and Alex Valera scored.
Recall that at the training camp in Slovenia, Shakhtar won a landslide victory in a sparring with Domzale. Previously, Jovicevic's team also played friendly matches against Fortuna (3:3), Utrecht (2:2), Ajax (1:3) and Roma (0:5).
Shakhtar took first place in the 2021/22 Premier League, which was completed ahead of schedule due to the full-scale invasion of Russian invaders. Consequently, the Pitmen got the right to play in the 2022/23 Champions League group stage. The draw for the main round of the Champions League is scheduled for August 25, and the first round of the group stage will take place on September 6/7.
