Former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich was re-elected President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

Elections were held at the FIDE General Assembly in the Indian city of Chennai. 157 delegates voted for Dvorkovich The Ukrainian Andriy Baryshpolets also took part in the FIDE presidential elections, for whom only 16 delegates voted.

Dvorkovich has led the organization since October 2018. Indian grandmaster Viswanathan Anand will take over as Vice President.

Recall that under the leadership of Dvorkovich, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) allowed Russians and Belarusians to play under the flag of the organization until December 31, 2022.
