The Ukrainian judo team won seven medals on the first day of the competition at the European Cup stage in Riga and led the medal standings.

The champions of the competitions in the capital of Latvia were Daria Bilodid (weight category up to 57 kg), Anastasia Antipina (up to 63 kg) and Artem Khomula (up to 73 kg).
