The European Judo Union (EJU) continued the removal of Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices.

The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the organization, reported on the official website of the organization..

EJU also announced the closure of its office in Moscow. Now all operations of the organization will be carried out by the head office in Vienna.

Recall that the International Judo Federation (IJF) allowed the Russians to Belarusians to participate in the Grand Slam tournaments in a neutral status. In response, the Judo Federation of Ukraine condemned this position of the IJF and stated that Ukrainian athletes would boycott competitions with the participation of Russians and Belarusians.. FGU President Vitaly Dubrova also said that the IJF banned any protests against the participation of Russia and Belarus during the tournaments, and those who do not comply with this will face disqualification.
