Russian clubs will not play in the Euroleague season 2022/23, according to BasketNews.

The organizers of the tournament held a vote - this step was supported by 7 out of 11 clubs that are part of the Euroleague board.

Serbian Partizan and Spanish Valencia received wild cards for the new season of the tournament.

Back in February, after the start of a full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the Euroleague Council suspended the participation of Russian teams in European tournaments. Then all the results of the Russians were canceled.

Russian Zenit, CSKA and UNICS played in the Euroleague. It is worth noting that CSKA is also a shareholder of the tournament.
