6-year-old Ilya Kostushevich from Mariupol handed over a letter to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson through Shakhtar, the press service of Donetsk residents reports..

Johnson recently wrote an open letter to Ukrainian children. And then Ilya decided to send a reply to the head of the British government:.

" I want the war to end soon so that no more people die. I want to play football in Mariupol. I wish all the children of the world had no war.

Say hello to all the kids in Britain, thank you for helping us. We will win. I have a cat Frosya. I am sending you the flag of Ukraine, which I drew. I hug you tightly. Ilya, 6 years old,"

Ilya Kostushevich asked the leaders of Shakhtar to convey this letter to the British Prime Minister, in particular, Darijo Srna.

It should be noted that the boy's parents died during the missile strikes of Russian troops on Mariupol.. A child from the blockade was rescued by volunteers, and a family from Slovyansk adopted him.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Putin made an urgent statement about conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, launching a large-scale invasion of Ukrainian cities..

The destroyed Mariupol was under siege by the Russian army for several months, and on May 21 it completely came under the control of the invaders.
