21-year-old Kokhan became the only Ukrainian to perform at the tournament. Interestingly, it was Mikhail who was the main contender for victory in the hammer throw..

Kohan showed results of 76.30 meters. Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Bruxelles (70.82) took second place, another Frenchman Erwen Abdou (67.64) won the bronze medal..

At the tournament, the Ukrainian completed all six successful attempts, each of which was further than 74 meters. Competitors could not get close to the Ukrainian, and only Bruxelles managed to throw the hammer further than 70 meters..

Note that before the competition in France, Kohan won silver at the tournament in Nairobi, where he set a personal record in 2022 (77.80), and also won in Polish Suwalki. The Ukrainian is almost three meters short of the absolute record of 80.78 meters.

Kohan is the U18 World Champion (2017), the U20 (2019) and U23 (2021) European Champion, and the winner of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

At the debut Olympics 2020, he stopped a step away from the award, taking fourth place.
