Zenit, Dynamo, Sochi and CSKA filed an appeal with CAS against UEFA's decision to remove Russian clubs from European competition.

All clubs have reportedly requested an expedited review of the complaint and expect the principle of sport to be upheld..

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Putin made an urgent statement about conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, launching a large-scale invasion of Ukrainian cities..

After that, UEFA excluded Russian clubs from European competitions, and the Russian team was deprived of the right to play in the qualifying play-offs for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

On May 2, UEFA decided to remove Russian clubs and national teams from the 2022/2023 international season. Russian teams next season will not be able to take part in European competitions, the UEFA Nations League, the U21 European Championship, Women's Euro 2022, as well as in the qualification of the Women's World Cup 2023.
