The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will hold an emergency meeting at which the application of the Russian Federation to host Euro 2028 and Euro 2032 will be rejected.

The organization realizes that it is impossible to hold a tournament in an aggressor country that unleashed a full-scale war against Ukraine.

Note that now Russia is suing UEFA and FIFA in vain in the Court of Arbitration for Sport due to the disqualification of Russian clubs and the national team due to the war in Ukraine. It is known that the UK and Ireland are considered the main contenders for hosting Euro 2028 (general application). In turn, Italy intends to apply to host Euro 2032.

The decision on who will host the European Championships will be made in September 2023.
