Details of the doping case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing became known.

A positive test was taken on December 25 during the Russian Championship in St. Petersburg, and on February 8 (already after the team tournament at the Olympics), a WADA accredited laboratory in Sweden found trimetazidine in Valieva’s sample, which is an analogue of the well-known meldonium.

The 15-year-old figure skater was suspended from the competition, which she successfully protested, and was allowed to train..

The visiting commission of CAS will consider the case of Valieva no later than February 15, that is, before the start of the personal tournament of figure skaters at the Olympics.

So far, there are no legal grounds to take away the gold of the team tournament from the ROC team.

Recall that Russia performs at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing without a flag and anthem in the format of the team of the Russian Olympic Committee due to past doping scandals. The Russians have already won 11 medals - 2 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Earlier it was reported that WADA warned Olympians in Beijing about doping risks when eating meat..
