Ukrainian athletes Angelina Khmil and Tatiana Lazarenko won gold at the World Youth Beach Volleyball Championship.

Competitions were held in Phuket, Thailand.

Ukrainians performed in two age categories - U-19 and U-21. At the U-19 level, the duo won bronze, and in the U-21 category they managed to become the best.

Khmil and Lazarenko reached the final, where they confronted the Spaniards and managed to win with a score of 2: 1 (21:17, 18:21, 17:15).

This is the second victory of Ukraine in the U-21 Beach Volleyball Championship. In 2011, Sergey Popov and Valery Samodai won gold. This is the first medal in the history of Ukraine in the women's tournament..
