On September 11-12, the 18th annual boxing tournament was held in Lyubotin. 70 athletes of three age categories took part in the competition, including 5 heavyweight boxers. The youngest participants were 10 years old, the oldest - up to 26. The tournament was dedicated to the Day of Liberation of Lyubotin and the Day of Physical Culture and Sports.

According to the organizers of the tournament, coach of the highest category Vladimir Tkachenko, these competitions are one of the most important in the region.. Unlike traditional regional tournaments, several age categories were represented here (from 10, from 14, and from 18 years old), and both masters of sports and newcomers in boxing entered the ring. “Our tournament has a long history, had international status, and attracted athletes from four countries,” recalls Vladimir Tkachenko.. “But over the past four years we have been going through difficult times, but we have no doubt that with the existing support the tournament will again reach the international level”.

According to the coach, now the tournament and Lyubotinsky boxing as a whole are supported by the local authorities and business: the deputy mayor Vyacheslav Ruban, the deputy of the city council Andrey Romanchenko, the entrepreneur Yuri Boldovsky came to the competition.. Evgeny Oberemok constantly supports the tournament, who himself trained in the Lyubotin boxing section.

“I am very happy when I see young guys appearing alongside experienced fighters in the ring.. Now they are in different categories, of course, but this gives hope that boxing in Lyubotin will live and develop, - Evgeny Oberemok dreams. - I borrowed a lot from training for myself - perseverance, ability to plan my actions, love of a healthy lifestyle.
