The fifth day of competition has come to an end at the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, all 62 sets of medals have already been raffled off on August 29.
The Ukrainian national team won 9 awards on Saturday: 2 gold (Oksana Zubkovskaya - in the long jump; Roman Polyansky - in rowing), 5 silver (Andrey Trusov, Denis Ostapchenko, Ilya Yaremenko - all in swimming; Natalia Oleinik - in powerlifting; Anastasia Mysnyk - in shot put) and 2 bronze medals (Alexander Nazarenko - in judo;
Maxim Veraksa - swimming).
After five days of competition, the " In terms of the number of awards, our country still confidently takes 4th place. In the medal standings, the Ukrainians retained their 5th position.
Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 kicked off on August 24 and will run until September 5, 2021. Competitions were postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The honor of Ukraine is defended by 143 Paralympians in 15 sports.
