Loud sensation in the Champions League: Moldovan “Sheriff” with a Ukrainian coach defeated Croatian “Dynamo”

Moldovan “Sheriff”, headed by Ukrainian Yuri Vernidub, defeated “Dynamo” Zagreb in the first match of the play-off round of the Champions League qualification. The match in Tiraspol ended in a victory for the hosts with a score of 3: 0.

Vernidub's charges scored the first goal just before the break. Adam Traore scores a hit. In the 54th minute, Dimitrios Kolovos scored the second goal.

The point in the game was put by the same Traore.

In the 80th minute, he scored a double and brought his team a sensational crushing victory over the favorite of the confrontation.

The return match of the teams will be held on August 25 in Zagreb. The fight starts at 22:00.

The winner of the confrontation will play in the group stage of the Champions League, the loser in the group stage of the Europa League.

Vernidub has been heading Sheriff since December 2020. Last season, he led the team to the victory in the Championship of Moldova.
