Marathon runner from France Morhad Amduni specially knocked over water bottles intended for his rivals during the Olympic race in Tokyo.
106 athletes took part in the competition, among them three were Ukrainian - Bogdan-Ivan Gorodissky, Nikolay Nizhnik and Alexander Sitkovsky. Thirty runners, including all representatives of Ukraine, failed to reach the finish line.
Amduni was one of the culprits.. Running past the point where you can drink water, the Frenchman took one of the bottles for himself, and knocked over the rest.
After the end of the marathon, Amduni was accused of foul play, but he disowned the intentionality of his act..
" It's obvious to me that I tried to take the bottle that was at the beginning of the row, but they slip away as soon as we touch them, "
Note that Amduni's cunning did not help him compete for medals or getting into the top 10. The Frenchman took 17th place, 5:55 minutes behind Olympic champion Elud Kipchoge.
