Ukrainian swimmer Andrey Govorov became the vice-champion of Europe, finishing second in the 50-meter butterfly.

Govorov, 29, qualified for the final with the best result. The Ukrainian was in the lead in the decisive heat for a long time, but at the finish he lost 0.01 seconds to the representative of Hungary Sebastian Shabo.

For Govorov, this is the seventh award at the continental championships.

Now Ukraine has two medals at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest. Earlier, Mikhail Romanchuk won gold at a distance of 1500 meters in freestyle.
